The Cold Lands

At the start of this year we investigated the Cold Lands. We found out about the Arctic and Antarctic and the animals that live there. We became Arctic explorers and investigated ice! ☃❄

Nursery Rhyme Time Topic

What a busy start to November we have had here at Knockbreda Nursery School! We have had a visit form the ‘World of Owls’ where we held some amazing creatures including a ghost snake, bearded dragon and a very famous owl! 🐍🦉🐉The children really enjoyed our first school visitor and were very brave! We then learnt all about different nursery rhymes and took part in the Nursery Rhyme Week, where we learnt a new rhyme each day! Children in Need rounded off our topic and we raised a whopping £210! Thank you all very much for your generous donations .⭐

🎃Halloween Fun!🎃

Today the children at Knockbreda Nursery have had a fun filled day of Halloween fun! Their costumes looked fantastic and there were big smiles all around!

At the Beach

The children at Knockbreda have been enjoying recreating family picnics and their trips to the beach during our topic ‘At the Beach’! We have been most fortunate that the sun has been shining on most days which has been prefect for our pretend ‘beach days’!

Green Flag Success for Knockbreda Nursery School

Congratulations to all concerned - staff and pupils alike, and not forgetting the caretaker and many parents who helped your school achieve its environmental targets.

The assessors made the following comments about the strengths of your school :

Excellent participation from the whole nursery on the Eco Committee.
Great links and work with Eco Schools delivery partners and other great initiatives such as Earth Day, Energy Saving Week and Comic Relief Day.
Great to see the children taking part in the Busta Bake Challenge which really ties in with their Waste topic.
The Eco Schools Team loved the idea of you School Eco Promise Wall – great idea!
Fantastic to see pupils enjoying so much time spent outdoors, incorporating their learning with nature.
