Gallery- Outdoor Play
At Knockbreda Nursery School, daily play outdoors takes place whatever the weather and in all seasons!
The children are fortunate to enjoy a spacious outdoor environment which includes three different outdoor areas; the playground, side terrace and sensory garden, where we enjoy weekly 'Forest School'. The children enjoy playing in our 'outdoor pods' which are themed to meet the provision of the six areas of the Pre-School curriculum.

Knockbreda Nursery School is an open plan setting with staff working as one team and the children from the two classes playing together. The school is spacious, bright and modern and offers provision for a wide variety of play activities.
Forest School
At Knockbreda Nursery School we are fortunate to enjoy three outdoor spaces and we make full use of these each day, whatever the weather! Each week we enjoy 'Forest School' when we take part in 'forest free play' in the woodland area we have created on our own school site.
In addition to exploratory play, there are teacher led activities at our Forest School and these have involved lighting a campfire, creating a bug hotel and planting a herb garden! Click to see more...
Thanks to funding from Awards for All, fundraising by our parents and families and support from our local Co-Op, Knockbreda Nursery School has been able to install an eco classroom, The Reco Box. The provides a sheltered area for snack, a toilet facility and an area to complete adult led activities which support and enhance our Forest School sessions.
